These vegan sandals are made from an olive-based leather alternative, an innovative and durable material produced in Turkey.
The material is made up of 87% olive, and 13% water-based PU.
It is developed under Oleatex® certification, a benchmark in terms of plant-based alternatives derived from olive groves.
A by-product turned resource : Skins, pits, olive fragments: all these residues, called pomace, are ground and then mixed with a water-based PU. The resulting paste is then dyed with natural pigments, spread onto a thick canvas, and then baked to stabilize its shape.
This process helps limit losses, optimize olive-growing waste, and offer a viable alternative to other less responsible materials.
The advantages of this material?
It offers real structure, good resistance to wear, and a visual finish that remains understated.
