NAE (No Animal Exploitation) is a Portuguese brand of vegan shoes . Their goal is to offer a respectful alternative for animals, for the environment and against the exploitation of workers. When creating the shoes, Nae gives important places to design, style and quality which are already widely recognized criteria in the Portuguese shoe sector.
Nae shoes are ethical, modern and designed for everyday use.

The making of Nae shoes

NAE manufactures its shoes only in Portugal, respecting workers , without using any product of animal origin or that is harmful to the environment.

The factory that Nae has worked with the longest is Trofal Who was one of the of the firsts to take up the challenge of working sustainably, by manufacturing shoes with vegan materials , before that is not "trendy". This family business founded in 1903 has always done its best to maintain its artisanal know-how. It was the first Portuguese company to obtain the ISO 9001 certificate , and the 3rd in Europe. This shows a willingness to defend excellence and good practices.

 

At Trofal, quality and precision in production are key. They use cork insulation for the soles and no aggressive glue. An environmentally friendly process .

Nae and Trofal have found each other, their collaboration spreads good vibes through pretty shoes !

Sustainable and eco-responsible shoes

NAE is an advocate of Slow Fashion . Their shoe prices may not be as attractive as Fast Fashion , but the quality is much higher. The brand wants to be as transparent as possible about its manufacturing methods and the components of its shoes.

NAE works as much as possible with:

• natural materials such as cork, pineapple leaf (pinatex), organic cotton,
• recycled materials such as tires, airbags and PET (from recycled plastic bottles),
• eco-friendly microfibers with Oeko-tex certification (mixture of cotton, polyester and nylon).

Nae makes sure that his shoes last as long as possible and are manufactured in an ethical and environmentally friendly manner .
